Winter 2019

I apply the Chinese filigree in the context of contemporary jewelry to bridge historical technique with modern design based on natural influences. Using filigree, an ancient metal technique in China, as a main technique, this collection breaks the rules of the traditional filigree patterns to suggest new features including unique forms, larger scale and its application. Through this body of work, by using annual rings inside the tree trunks, and branches, I strive to share time and experiences that natural endures and teaches us how life should be.
